Masters of Science in Biomedical Informatics
Newly Launched Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics
The purpose of the MS in BMI is to provide comprehensive and competency-based training in core Biomedical Informatics theories and methods for both:
- recent college graduates with backgrounds in the biological and/or computational sciences and;
- in-career learners with a broad range of experiences in biomedicine/biosciences, mathematics, physical or computer information sciences or engineering, and cognitive and/or social sciences.
The program will provide students with grounded theory and a broad range of applied skills in their chosen track of:
- translational bioinformatics & clinical research informatics (TBI/CRI);
- clinical informatics (CI); or
- bioinformatics (BI).
Students will have the opportunity to personalize their approved electives and competency courses based upon their tracks and educational and professional backgrounds, thus building upon their existing biomedical informatics competencies while being provided with hands-on experiential learning opportunities.
The newly launched graduate certificate in Biomedical Informatics is ideal for working professionals. The certificate offers a broad range of applied skills and requires 16-units and a condensed capstone project.
