NIH Mock Study Section
Reviewers discuss an application at an NIH Mock Study Section while observers look on
The Office of Training Grants hosts NIH Mock Study Sections, designed to simulate an actual NIH study section, twice a year. NIH clinical and translational R, K, and F series grant applications will be reviewed, critiqued, and scored by three internal faculty members as well as other study section members and the feedback will be distributed to applicants prior to the NIH grant deadline. Since its inception in 2014, more than 50% of participants that have submitted their applications to NIH have been funded.
The next Mock Study Section will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, in the Center for Advance Medicine (CAM), Farrell Conference Room 2.
All investigators preparing an NIH grant application for the R, K and F series are encouraged to submit their clinical or translational proposals for this internal review. Letter of Intent Guidelines may be found below:
Observers (those not submitting an application) are encouraged to attend the Mock Study Section to get a better understanding of the review process and what reviewers look for in applications. Please RSVP to Betsy Abente, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Faculty with NIH study section experience, we need your help! Please let us know if you are willing to participate and your areas of expertise. If interested, email us email@example.com.
