The Clinical Research Training Center serves as the education and workforce development arm of the Institute
of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS)
, the Clinical and Translational Science
Awards (CTSA) Program at Washington University in St. Louis. The CRTC supports the next
generation of interdisciplinary research leaders and provides a wide variety of
opportunities to meet the needs of the clinical and translational workforce at different
career stages.

A fundamental goal of the CRTC is to educate and foster the next generation of clinical
and translational leaders on a platform of diversity, equity and inclusion. In concert with
CTSA program goals, the CRTC believes that in order to foster advancements in translational
research, it is crucial that the clinical and translational science workforce reflects the
population that it serves. With this commitment, the CRTC actively supports the professional
and personal development of under-represented minority trainees across all programs.

Through the ICTS CTSA award, the CRTC supports two CTSA program- supported training
awards including the KL2 Mentored Clinical Research Scholar Awards and the TL1
Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Programs. Learn more about how our KL2 scholars and
TL1 trainees have advanced their training, gained valuable research skills, and found
community during their experiences with the Clinical Research Training Center.
