PRIDE offers selected postbaccalaureate scholars mentor-supported research education, didactic coursework, and opportunities to prepare for graduate school.
Additional program benefits include:
- An opportunity to establish a network for career-building
- Funding to attend one DEM conference during appointment
- An opportunity to serve as near-peer mentors for undergraduate scholars interested in a future medical career
- Participation in an independent research program which results in at least one publication
- Participation in a medical and/or graduate school prep program which culminates in an application and acceptance into a doctoral program
- 75% protected time is required to conduct a mentored research project with a WashU faculty member, while the additional 25% can be dedicated to coursework or other activities promoting skills development
- An opportunity to analyze and present findings
