Great research begins with informed training, ethical practices, and a supportive community committed to integrity. Whether you’re looking to build confidence in navigating real-world research scenarios or fulfill NIH or NSF Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training requirements, the CRTC has you covered. We’re excited to introduce CLNV 5000 Responsible Conduct of Research, a new, one-credit RCR course offered as part of our Master of Science in Clinical Investigation curriculum.
This course provides practical knowledge and skills for the responsible conduct of research, spanning issues of authorship; peer review; data confidentiality, management, sharing, and ownership; human subjects protections; collaboration; mentor-mentee relationships; conflicts of interest; research misconduct; and safe and supportive research environments. CLNV 5000 satisfies NIH, NSF, and other federal agency’s requirements for instruction in the responsible conduct of research. The course encourages sensitivity to ethical issues in research, develops decision-making and communication skills for navigating challenges in research, and builds awareness of resources that support the responsible conduct of research.
Seminars are every Tuesday at 4pm: August 25, 2026 – December 1, 2026
Who can attend?
Many sponsors, programs, and awards require that trainees, fellows, participants, and scholars receiving their support complete training in the responsible conduct of research. This course is designed to satisfy that requirement through a flexible format in which participants select eight seminars over the course of the semester to meet the required training hours and earn course credit.
Only individuals actively enrolled in CLNV 5000 Responsible Conduct of Research may join these sessions. To receive credit, participants must attend sessions in their entirety and actively engage in discussions. Current tuition rates apply.
